Ancient India
If you have ever read the Ancient Indian history, you will agree that its no myth but reality that some Muslim rulers in India destroyed Hindu temples and built Mosques over it.This is the harsh reality and everyone will have to accept it.Although this wrong and cheap incidents were happened mostly in the mid period by some bastard and stinky Muslim rulers of that time.Due to this awful and cheap practices they also unbalanced the Hindu-Muslim Unity many times.
This is Qutub Minar and Quwwatul Islam Masjid, an important tourist site in Delhi. Some people may not know that it was built over 20–27 Hindu Temples.
This is Somnath Temple of Gujarat. It was destroyed 17 times by Mehmood Gaznavi. It was reconstructed in May 1951.
This is Shri Krishna Janam Bhumi Mandir (Temple of birthplace of Lord Krishna). It was destroyed during Aurangzeb’s era and Eidgah was build over it. It was reconstructed after Independence of India in 1947.
This is Gyanvapi Mosque which was built after destruction of Kashi Vishvanath Temple in Varansi by Aurangzeb. Kashi Temple is considered as one of the most important Shiva temple in Hinduism. Remains of Kashi Temple can be found alongwith Gyanvapi Mosque (in mud color).
This is old picture of Babri Masjid which was destroyed on Dec 06, 1992. It was built after destruction of Ram Mandir during Babar’s rule. Construction of Ram Mandir in India at the moment is one of the hottest political topic. And now Indian government and judiciary has decided to rebuilt the holy Ram Mandir.
These are some examples and I know there will be plenty of places where Hindu temples were destroyed. We need to acknowledge this harsh reality whatever did by some Muslim rulers cannot be justified in any way.
These sites I listed above have significance in Hinduism so it is very hard for common Hindu to forget everything in a while. This is one of the reason you will see many Hindus maintain strong views about Muslim rulers on the basis of it. Situation gets critical when some Muslims feel proud on such incidents and defend the atrocities of some Muslim rulers I mentioned above.
We cannot undo the history however we can reconcile our behaviors. Muslims and Hindus need to stop fighting with each other on incidents happened in past. We need to acknowledge mistakes and shake hands for better future of subcontinent.
Unity in diversity!
